This past weekend, only the U9 teams were left without competition. While the 2 teams were supposed to participate in the Caux-et-Sauzens plateau on Saturday, March 14th at 10 am, a disappointing news was received on Friday afternoon: the plateau was canceled due to slightly concerning weather forecasts for Saturday morning. It was a letdown for the entire group who had been missing out on competition since February 7th.
On Saturday, the two XI football teams (U15 and U19) played at home. The U15 team, in agreement with the visiting team (OCSM2), decided to start the match at 11:30 am. Following a recent underperformance (-2) against FUN Narbonne, Samir t Laurent’s team had the desire to redeem themselves in front of their audience. With dedication, commitment, generosity, and seriousness, the young players delivered an excellent performance with a convincing score of 3-0. The match unfolded in a great spirit of fair play. Thanks to this victory, the Arzenais team regained the lead in group B, tied with UF Lézignan whom they will host on Saturday, March 21st at 3 pm.
At 3:30 pm on the same Saturday, the U19 Territoire team hosted US Minervois. Facing a seemingly weak Minervois team, the Malepère team expected a smooth victory. However, in football, anything can happen. Missing some key players, the local team struggled to take control of the game and dominate.
At halftime, to everyone’s surprise, the visitors were leading 1-0. After being admonished by the coaches, the Arzenais quickly regained control of the game and eventually won 5-2. This victory placed them in a respectable 3rd position before their away match on Sunday, March 22nd at 3 pm against Alénya (P.-O.) to face ATAC. AC.
On Sunday at 3 pm, the seniors faced Palaja, the leader of D3-Group B, and had to concede defeat to the formidable visiting team.
Next Saturday, there will be a Malepère derby at 8 pm at the Lavalette stadium.
