The French boat and its crew for the 2027 America’s Cup were unveiled on Tuesday. The team will be sponsored by La Roche-Posay.

In 2027, Naples will host the 38th edition of the America’s Cup, where the defending New Zealand team will face off. Three years after being eliminated in the Louis Vuitton Cup playoffs in Barcelona, a French boat will once again compete. The team was revealed on Tuesday and will be named the La Roche-Posay Racing Team, after the leading global brand of dermatological skincare, which is part of the L’Oréal group.

Experienced sports director, Philippe Presti, will lead the French project. The 60-year-old helmsman has vast America’s Cup experience as the head coach of the American Oracle team and the Italian Luna Rossa team. He expressed his happiness to be part of the French team and looks forward to pushing boundaries in the 2027 Naples event.

At the helm of the French boat will be Quentin Delapierre (33), supported by an international crew for various roles. The team includes sailors from different backgrounds, bringing a wealth of experience to the challenge. The crew is a mix of cultures and expertise, creating a stimulating environment for everyone involved.

The first preliminary regattas will take place in Cagliari, Sardinia, in May, followed by training in Brittany during the summer before setting up camp in Naples starting in September. France, New Zealand, Great Britain, Italy, and Switzerland are all engaged in the 2027 America’s Cup, all striving to win the oldest sporting trophy in the world, the Aiguière d’Argent, contested since 1851.
