In an interview, Gardanne’s coach, Bibi Abdelhalim, expressed his satisfaction with his team’s performance despite some difficulties during the match.
From the start, Gardanne impressed with their ball skills, while Rovenains relied on their athleticism and strength to counterattack. After twenty minutes of play, Mestre missed a shot (20) before Chudzik, with a header, tested the Rovenains’ goalkeeper (25). Shortly after, Mestre scored (1-0) after a scramble following a center from Jaoua.
Gardanne continued to apply pressure, but Jaoua and Chudzik’s attempts were saved by Lucas, the Rovenains’ goalkeeper. Assad, Gardanne’s goalkeeper, also made a crucial save from Sia’s free kick to deny Pasquini’s offside goal (40).
In the first half, Gardanne Biver secured the lead with goals from Mestre (25) and Disapio (42), while Soares Tavares scored for Le Rove (56) in the second half. Despite several opportunities to equalize, including a missed penalty in the 70th minute, Gardanne held on to secure the victory.
With this win, Gardanne moved up to the 4th position in group E, surpassing Le Rove who remains in 10th place on the leaderboard.
