The Spanish football has been the scene of a new despicable act of racism before the Champions League match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The shocking scenes that occurred during the friendly match between Spain and Egypt last week seem to have spread to the Spanish capital.

Even in light of the numerous cases of racism that have affected football stars in recent years, Spain was shocked by the audacity and number of supporters who chanted “Celui qui ne saute pas est un musulman” (Those who do not jump are Muslims) during the match against Egypt. These incidents were repeated outside the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Tuesday night, before the Champions League match between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. This happened following Vinicius Junior’s remarks praising Lamine Yamal for taking a stand against these racist chants.

Atletico Madrid fans traveling show a worrying trend.

Before the Champions League match of Atletico, thousands of Colchoneros traveled to Barcelona to support their team at Camp Nou. According to Sport, a “small group” of Atletico supporters were seen mimicking the same chant heard at the RCDE stadium and outside the Bernabeu, supported by video evidence.
