The SC Sète and Stade Balarucois will face off in the semi-finals of the Cup this Friday, April 10.
Over the past three decades, many clubs from the Thau basin have enjoyed integrating into the final stages of the Veterans Cup and often bringing the trophy home. During this time, Stade Mézois, Olympique Lapeyradois, Social de Sète, and Asfac have all left their mark on the trophy, some multiple times.
This trend continues for the current season, as two teams will be hoping to reach the final of the competition on Friday night, with one guaranteed to do so.
The Balarucois, who were unfortunate losers in 2023 against Arceaux, will want to seize a new opportunity to play in the final. However, the Sète team led by Imad Talbi will strive to deny them this joy. The defending champions, Saint-Georges-d’Orques, will aim to repeat their success at home. With a 6-2 victory in the league, it promises to be a tough challenge. Regardless, a team from the basin will be in the final, setting up a rematch. The league rematch is scheduled for April 17, allowing a full week for recovery.
One thing we can be sure of is that there will be green in the final on May 15, the exact shade is still unknown.
This Friday at 8:30 PM: SC Sète vs. Stade Balarucois (Tomaszower Stadium). This Friday at 9 PM: RCO Agde vs. Jacou – Clapiers FA.
