The traditional May Day football tournament is set to make its grand return. Organized by the City of Autun in partnership with the Sporting Club, the event will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Saint-Roch stadium, promising once again a day filled with sports and conviviality.
An unmissable meeting for football enthusiasts
Every year, this tournament brings together teams from all over the Autun region: football amateurs, as well as companies, associations, and sports clubs. In 2025, no less than 20 teams participated, confirming the enthusiasm for this competition accessible to all.
Open to players aged 16 and older, the tournament aims to be friendly above all. Teams must consist of 10 to 14 players, with a requirement of diversity as at least one woman must be included in each formation.
Registrations open until April 20
Interested teams have until April 20 at 5pm to register by filling out the online form. The fee is set at 18 euros per person, including participation in this highly anticipated sports day as well as a meal, a drink, and a coffee.
Beyond the competition, the event is also designed as a sharing moment. A dining area and a bar will be available on site, allowing participants and spectators to fully enjoy the atmosphere.
A sporting and festive event anchored in Autun
Over the years, this May 1st tournament has become a key event on the local calendar. Accessible, festive, and intergenerational, it contributes to energizing the sports life of Autun.
By bringing together amateur players, football enthusiasts, and residents, the City and the Sporting Club of Autun intend once again to make the 2026 edition a success.
Whether to play or simply to support the teams, the meeting is scheduled at the Saint-Roch stadium on May 1st from 8:30 am for a day where football is synonymous with conviviality (prize giving around 6 pm depending on the tournament schedule).
