The “Foot en Têt” internship organized by the Ille-Néfiach Football Club is taking place until Friday, March 6. It is aimed at young people aged 10 to 13 and is supervised by Christophe Parrilla, Teddy Moréno, Nicolas Hernandez, and Fabio Siffre, qualified educators. It has three objectives: develop collective play, improve technically through workshops, and master dribbling techniques.
Encounters and discoveries “The idea is to show that football is not just about competition. We can experience football in a different way. We decided to organize this internship by setting up several workshops to discover other activities. It will include American football, football on the city field, and futsal at La Catalane,” explains Christophe Parrilla. “We will have Eric Wattellier, a referee from Ligue 1, come to give a brief introduction to refereeing. He will talk about his career, how he became a professional referee, his daily life as a referee, and then give an overview of referee gestures. We will discuss the issue of incivility around stadiums and violence in stadiums.”
The firefighters will be called upon to intervene. “They will give an overview of first aid gestures; all the actions that can be useful on the field in case of injury. They have also prepared a technical course, with a discovery of the different accessories they use.” A collaborative project, as President Nicolas Hernandez highlights: “Each educator brings a project idea. The goal is for them to manage it from start to finish. The idea was interesting and they got the green light. The schedule is well structured, and the children will have fun.”
American football will be a first at the Jean-Galia stadium. “The goal is to have them practice a sport they are not used to. I contacted the manager of the Catalan Grizzlies. I presented the idea to him: to discover their activity. He was interested. He sent out an educator on Tuesday afternoon to come and demonstrate for the young people. It will be non-contact American football. He will bring equipment and around twenty balls,” emphasizes Jérôme Parrilla.
