Cassandre Beaugrand, gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Games in triathlon, has a strong point: running. The proof is that the triathlete broke the French 10-kilometer record in 30 minutes and 52 seconds at the Lille urban trail on Saturday afternoon. After winning the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Frenchwoman surpassed a mark of 31 minutes set by Alessia Zarbo in Prague in September 2025.

After announcing her intention to focus more on athletics this year, the 28-year-old triathlete successfully returned to the road by smashing her personal record (33’12”), which she set in 2016 when she was 19 years old.

Since then, she had devoted herself to triathlon, leaving behind her teenage years when she excelled in athletics (cross-country and middle-distance running). Cassandre Beaugrand adds this national 10km record to the 5km record, achieved in 14’53” in February 2025. “It was time to get back on the 10 kilometers and see what I was worth,” she smiled after the race, feeling muscularly marked after experiencing cramps. “I now have a base and I am convinced that with a little work, maybe I can still improve.”
