On its website, the French Football Federation (FFF) has announced that they have signed a contract with GL Events for the return of the French national team to the Stade de France.

The French national team will be returning to the Stade de France. In a statement published on their official website, the FFF announced that they have signed a contract with GL Events to allow the team to play matches once again at the historic stadium. This contract will span the next 30 years. The return will begin on Friday, October 2nd with France-Italy in the 2027 Nations League, and will take place in two phases.

The first phase will happen before renovation and modernization work carried out by GL Events, which is expected to be completed by December 31, 2030. Therefore, from this year until 2030, matches for the French national team and the Coupe de France finals can be organized, depending on stadium availability and the progress of the work. Before the national team’s return, the Coupe de France final will take place on Friday, May 22 at the Stade de France, following the Coupe Gambardella final earlier in the day.

Diallo: “It offers increased visibility for the Federation and the French national team”

The second phase will take place from January 2031 to 2055. During this extended period, three French national team matches will be held at the same stadium every season, along with the Coupe de France final.

Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation, was pleased with the agreement: “It offers increased visibility for the Federation and the French national team, and provides a new source of income that will allow us to continue developing our actions in service of French football, from grassroots to the highest level represented by our national teams. This agreement with GL Events perfectly illustrates the current momentum of the FFF.”
