Taking reference points that can help us against Bistrita, against Saint-Amand, Brest BH will test itself before the Champions League quarter

LFH (20th day). Brest BH – Saint-Amand, this Wednesday (8:00 PM)

The reception of Saint-Amand, this Wednesday, is not like climbing Everest for Brest BH. Even though they are doing quite well this season, with a 4th place and 44 points, the Louves (the nickname given to the players) are not expected to cause trouble for the Brestoises. The significant victory (18-31) of the latter, in the first match, highlights the gap between these two teams.

However, this match has a double sporting benefit for the BBH players. The first being to maintain their unbeaten streak in the championship and continue their quest for the title; the second to prepare for the three major challenges at the end of this season: the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bistrita (see opposite), on April 18 and 26, and then the trip to Metz, at the beginning of May, for the LFH final. Especially since between this match against Amandinoises and the double confrontation against the Romanian championship leaders, eighteen days without an official match will pass, due to a new international break.

“Establish reference points that can help us”

So this Wednesday, it is about “establishing reference points that can help us against Bistrita”, says Raphaëlle Tervel. “We want to make the most of every minute. We want to use this meeting to put things in place,” says the Brest coach, aware that her players already have their minds set on this European rendezvous. “We feel that it is approaching and that there is increasing demand in training. Everyone is very focused on what we want to implement,” explains the coach, who will have the return of Méline Nocandy, but might be without Clarisse Mairot (ankle) and Juliette Faure (calf). For these two players, an assessment will be made during the warm-up this Wednesday.
