The visitors opened the scoring with a corner kick that was victoriously headed in by Lagui at the far post (0-1, 8th minute). However, the home team quickly responded. Following a well-curled shot from Joris Ahlinvi that was saved by the goalkeeper, they earned a corner kick. In the ensuing play, the defense of AS MUR struggled to clear the ball and Ahlinvi was fouled in the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick.
The forward made no mistake, powering the ball into the top corner (1-1, 11th minute). The B&eacut;arnais continued to attack the Boïens. A powerful strike from Serrano was pushed wide by Klein (21st minute) and on a very good cross from Attoukora, Lagui’s shot was narrowly off target (23rd minute). The home team also had their chances, with a nice team play ending in a strong cross from Abderrebi that Dutruge couldn’t reach in time to score (33rd minute). But the best opportunity was for Touyet, whose shot hit the left post of Klein’s goal (42nd minute).
The Boïens gave their all
After the break, the Boïens conceded another goal early in the second half. A precise cross from Jaafar found Lagui unmarked at the six-yard box, who headed the ball in to put his team back in front (1-2, 48th minute). This advantage proved to be decisive despite three huge chances for the home team to equalize. First, Abderrebi’s shot was saved by the keeper (53rd minute).
“We are not going to give up even though tonight, it hurts because the team did not deserve this result,” said coach Alain Forgit.
A second chance saw a great team play that led to Medeghri hitting the post (57th minute). And a third opportunity in stoppage time from a Duffiet cross found Dutruge, whose shot hit the post as well (90th + 2 minute). A string of bad luck that left Boïen’s coach disappointing.
