The FC L’Isle-Jourdain managed to secure a draw against Saint-Nicolas (2-2) on Friday, March 27, despite being at a disadvantage both in terms of the score and numerical strength.
After a good draw against the third-placed team, Sainte-Christie Preignan, last week, FC L’Isle-Jourdain faced off against Hol in a match marked by cold weather. The game struggled to find a good rhythm, possibly due to the weather conditions.
The visitors were slightly more dominant, but they didn’t pose a significant threat to the L’Isle-Jourdain goalkeeper. There was only one major save by the Lislois keeper in the 33rd minute.
Six minutes later, following a defensive effort by Rivayrand, Sere sent a deep ball that Marcant skillfully converted to score (1-0, 39th minute). The score remained the same until halftime.
In the second half, the visitors increased their pressure and managed to score an equalizer and then take the lead (1-1, 54th minute and 1-2, 59th minute) with a ten-man L’Isle-Jourdain team due to a red card.
However, the FCL team continued to pose a threat, and Sabi scored a goal with a bit of luck (2-2, 76th minute). The match ended in a draw, with both teams having opportunities to change the outcome.
The captain of FCL, Nicolas Comière, described the match as reflective of their season, characterized by irregularity. Despite the result, leaving Saint-Nicolas behind is a positive for the team.
The match details: FC L’Isle-Jourdain 2 – Saint-Nicolas 2. Goals by Marcant (39th minute) and Sabi (76th minute). Yellow cards for Fois (44th and 59th minute) and Saulnier (80th minute). Red card for Fois (59th minute).
The lineup for FC L’Isle-Jourdain included: Tiar, Escoula, Camara, Langlade, Comière, Bouzin, Carreira, Rivayrand, Marcant, Fois, Sere, with Albertini, Saulnier, and Sabi coming on as substitutes.
