On this Friday evening, March 27, a moment usually dedicated to the second training of the week, about fifty people, players, leaders, and relatives, gathered in the reception room of the René-Garnier stadium to take stock of the end of the season of Stade Olympique annoncéen (SOA), in the presence of Clément Broutier, the municipal councilor now in charge of the sports world of the Montgolfier city.

Clément Dufaut, co-president, announced his resignation and the bad news: the Blue and White team, despite being 4th in the Regional 2 championship group, will not be allowed to participate in the final phase due to an insufficient number of registered players at the rugby school, knowing that the French Rugby Federation does not consider those under 6 years old.

Several departures

“I’m sorry for the players who fought well but the reserve team will participate in the final phase,” a meager consolation.

Note the resignations of Anthony Millet and Vincent Pavia, coaches, and the arrival, as co-president, of Bertrand Gaillard, who joins Frédéric Tourton. “We will try to transition slowly to the next season,” he said, “we will try to structure the board, increase the number of people for the refreshment stand or the secretariat, as well as contact as many players as possible.”

“Jean-Marie Arnaud has given us his agreement and we are still looking; Dan Baleinadogo has confirmed that he is continuing. The life of a club must involve more player involvement in the events organized by the club. We will structure the communication and continue to work with the CSA to enroll more children in the rugby school.”

Some discussions with the present players focused on the attractiveness of the club and the need to bring in money to ensure the various missions. Marcel Clappe, honorary president of the club, said: “There have always been problems and we have always come out of them!” Anthony Millet added: “the future is bright, there are beautiful things to do.” Bertrand Gaillard concluded the evening by recalling two upcoming dates, the traditional SOA tournament on May 8 and the Colosses tournament on May 30.
