On Tuesday, March 17th, Marion Filloque’s students enrolled in the cinema workshops at Jean-Rostand College in Arbent participated in sound recording sequences with uninterrupted camera framing.

Every Tuesday and Friday, these students attend cinema sessions. 5th grade beginners have two hours of classes on Tuesdays, while 4th and 3rd graders in the advanced section also have two hours of classes on Fridays.

These students benefit from these specific courses. Upon enrollment at the college, they had an interview with the principal and the French teacher who teaches cinema. To improve their cinematic knowledge, the cinema section invites external speakers. In the first term, a director from Lyon came to talk about his job to the students.

On this day, Maxime Teissedre, a video professional from Bourg-en-Bresse who is also an animator in schools and social centers, intervened at the college to help and guide the students in sound recording and camera handling.

Planning a project with cinema

The students’ current goal is to carry out their project “Episodes of Life at the College” with several interviews to conduct, filming with school staff: teachers and students to show life at the college. This film will be presented to parents and students on the open house day, April 24, from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. It will provide a visual overview of the entire college and include interviews with teachers.
