At the heart of the electoral turmoil last Sunday, music, known for soothing souls, more than ever, managed to thrill the audience of the Sunday Music series. For the last concert of the season, a unique and intense moment awaited a large audience. An original combination of percussion and piano in four hands, carried by a resolutely off-the-beaten-path program.

From the famous Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun by Claude Debussy to the “bursting sonata” by Béla Bartók, as highlighted by Sylvie Gerin, artistic director of Forum, the concert’s imprint aimed to be original and surprising, served by exceptional artists: Théo Fouchenneret, Jonas Vitaud, Rodolphe Théry, and Adélaïde Ferrière. Among them, a special tribute was paid to Adélaïde Ferrière, percussionist and the 2026 laureate of the Victoires de la Musique Classique in the category of “instrumental soloist revelation.” A remarkable distinction, “unique in the history of this ceremony,” announced Rodolphe Théry. A new proof that Forum continues to offer the Holy Grail of chamber music, thanks to the artists who take the stage in Castres with a great diversity of approaches, formations, and sensitivities.
