The electronic music scene will ignite on Saturday with the Berlin label Innervisions, invited to Toulouse. Three hours of DJ set by Kristian Beyer, for an anticipated house evening at La Cabane, Halles de la Cartoucherie.

For house music enthusiasts, certain names are iconic. Innervisions, a Berlin label founded in 2005 by Steffen Berkhahn (alias Dixon) and the duo ‚me, is one of them. An institution in the electronic music scene, they are set to play in Toulouse this Saturday at the new concert venue, La Cabane in Halles de la Cartoucherie.

Its co-founder Kristian Beyer (part of the duo ‚me) will offer a 3-hour set, at the invitation of Toulousians from After Now, who are eagerly anticipating the event. “Innervisions has a strong reputation,” explained Gilles Moncaubeig, co-organizer. “For 20 years, Innervisions has maintained a highly interesting musical style, with a modern sound while carrying forward the legacy of electronic music from the past 50 years. It’s a particular label, it’s THE label that is most respected for its originality and choice of sounds.”

“Early dance” format

Pre-sales have taken off, with After Now aiming for a crowd of 500 on the ground floor, “to have space to dance,” and 200 on the balcony to enjoy the set from above. The target audience is primarily in their forties, those who loved dancing to house music in the 2000s, but the style also appeals to younger generations. The “early dance” format allows the evening to kick off at 9 pm until 2 or 3 am.

“It’s very danceable, both energetic and intellectual, without falling into melodic techno. It’s music respected by all DJs,” emphasized Gilles Moncaubeig. Innervisions is cherished for its highly emotional, melodic, often cinematic sounds, with a true focus on overall aesthetics. A “deep-melodic” style that has made a mark on the global scene since the 2010s. The independent collective sporadically visits locations since its inception in 2005, including the iconic Berlin club Berghain and its Panorama Bar.

The After Now project was created two years ago by three house music enthusiasts, Diego Quesada, a turntable craftsman, Jérôme Vergez, a sound engineer, and Gilles Moncaubeig. The trio opened sophisticated studios in the Cartoucherie district, created their own label, and organize events, such as Henrik Schwartz’s live performance in December at La Cabane.

Saturday, March 28 at 9 pm at La Cabane, Halles de la Cartoucherie, 16 ter avenue Raymond Badiou, Toulouse. Prices: €38.50 in advance, €40 on-site. Opening act: Gilles and Diego B2B Gasky from 9 pm to 11 pm.
