It was a loved and popular comedian. The funeral of Bruno Salomone brought together hundreds of people on Monday, March 23, in Joinville-le-Pont, Val-de-Marne. A ceremony open to the public a few days after his death at the age of 55 from cancer. There was not enough space to accommodate everyone inside, so several hundred people gathered outside the small red brick church.
Speeches were broadcast, starting with that of his friend Jean Dujardin, very moved at their side of the humorists group Nous & Nous. “We will talk about you, about your hypersensitivity, about your talent,” begins the actor, very moved. Vicky attends the ceremony, dressed in black, tissue in hand: “I met Bruno when he was in the Disney group, with my daughter. Life was almost a party with him.”
Neighbours were present at the tribute. In the funeral procession to the cemetery, celebrities and onlookers mingled. “He had real talent and I wish him in the afterlife that with his guinea pig, he continues to invent sketches,” says Agnès, a fan of Bruno Salomone for years. Several residents of Joinville were also present, like Pierre and Chantal. “We met him a few times in the street, he was always smiling and always pleasant,” remembers Pierre. “It’s normal that the people of Joinville also came to pay him homage,” adds Chantal.
At the cemetery, the music “Et si tu n’existais pas” by Joe Dassin is played. In the final speeches, many described Bruno Salomone as someone they would have liked to have “as a brother.”
