In 2022, Booba declared war on influencers and their excesses. While his main target was Magali Berdah, founder of the Shaunaevents agency, the movement had very real repercussions on a whole sector: many influencers saw their incomes plummet drastically, with product placements becoming increasingly rare.
Interviewed by Libération about the reasons for this fight, the Duke of Boulogne was direct: “Because I have an impact and I am followed on social networks, it is my mission to denounce them. Now that I am involved, I have to finish it. Basically, I don’t know these people. They don’t interest me, and their shows make me want to vomit every time I see them on TV. The more I criticized them, the more I explored the crappy world of influencers. I discovered the role of their pseudo-manager, Magali Berdah, the queen of triviality. It made me want to dig deeper to understand. Understand why thousands of internet users accuse them of fraud.” Product placements then relatively decreased, changing the lifestyle of many French influencers like Kelly Hélard and Neymar.
Jazz and Laurent in the crosshairs
Among the many targets of the rapper is the couple formed by Jazz and her husband Laurent. It all started with a viral video showing the latter driving a Bugatti Chiron, a photo that did not escape Booba. The one who is in a clash with Aya Nakamura then multiplied jabs, starting with Jazz’s appearance. On a photo of the young mother, he wrote: “I’ve been told in my earpiece that Laurent and Jazz have left Dubai. They would have settled in a neighboring country.”
Later, he targeted Jazz’s feet, not without a certain cynicism: “Instead of buying a Chiron, you should have bought her a toe because the sister is in a very bad shape. The pavement on Jazz almost 3000 RT it’s crazy LOL. How she managed to escape for so long with a foot like that is incredible! Fortunately, I’m here.”
Twist in Dubai: Booba adds fuel to the fire
The geopolitical context around Dubai offered Booba a new opportunity to bring out the heavy artillery. While French influencers located in the emirate were demanding repatriation, the rapper published a video of himself on Saturday, March 21, performing, singing on a boat during one of his previous stays in Dubai.
An acidic message accompanied the publication, directly targeting Laurent, accused by many subscribers of scamming them: “We will miss Dubai… In your opinion, where will the influvoleurs Laurent Billionaire and company hide? Many people are still looking for them.” A new jab that confirms that, for Booba, this war against the excesses of influence is far from over.
