On Sunday, March 22, journalist Caroline Thirion will be accompanied by Anne Laudisoit with whom she shared an adventure in Congo to present their documentary at 5 PM.

This Sunday, March 22, instead of going to vote, the people of Millau can head to the Millau cinema to watch the documentary “MBUDHA, la Source des chimpanzés” by Caroline Thirion. The journalist recounts her experience with Anne Laudisoit, a Belgian biologist, epidemiologist, and adventurer. The two women ventured into a “red zone since the war where no foreigner had set foot since 1999,” said Caroline Thirion. In this area, chimpanzees live.

They caught the attention of Anne Laudisoit, who, after several explorations, decided to visit to inventory and document this area. “During their adventure, following clues gathered from villagers and images captured by camera traps, the scientific team managed to find the chimpanzee community known only to the villagers and made intriguing discoveries. Testimonies suggest that locally, chimpanzees may have funeral rites and actively hunt small mammals according to a different local culture from other documented groups.”

Several screenings at festivals

The screening at the Millau cinema as part of the Cinema Spring event will be followed by a discussion with the two women. An opportunity to delve deeper into the adventure they experienced in these unexplored lands. The film has already been broadcast on TF1, Ushuaïa TV, and has been selected at numerous festivals, including What a trip in Montpellier.
