Several wedding professionals participated in the wedding fair organized by two photographers from Gard rhodanien in Pont-Saint-Esprit on Saturday, March 21. It was an opportunity to review the trends for a successful wedding.

For the 4th edition of their wedding fair, held every year in a different venue, this time on Saturday, March 21, at Domaine Ventajol in Pont-Saint-Esprit, Marinne Granger and Magali Lepert, both photographers in Gard rhodanien, chose a theme of “glamour-chic, trying to be trendy” with a black and white variation.

“In Ivory, rose gold, we do not have any colors this year,” confirmed Madeleine Arnaud, the owner of “Mado Mariage” boutique in Goudargues, present at the fair. Regarding the style of the dress, “It depends on the brides! Some prefer mermaid dresses, very fitting, others a bohemian style or lingerie,” but the princess dress “is timeless at any age, it’s every little girl’s dream.” The fitting remains a privileged moment. “You should try everything because often we think it won’t suit us,” encourages this professional couturier, who takes measurements before sending them to the designer Mathilde Mariage. “Some clients come from far away for these dresses that I sell at a fixed price: 990 euros.”

“More and more young people are wearing custom-made suits,” assured Julien Marchand, who opened the boutique “Blandin & Delloye” in Avignon, and presented his models at the wedding fair in Pont-Saint-Esprit. “For weddings, the tuxedo, black, or summer ivory is making a big comeback. It’s very dressy. We also have requests for pastel or burgundy colors in autumn. Navy blue, gray, these are colors worn for work. Wearing a custom-made suit on the big day will cost between 800 and 1,800 euros.”

Marinne Granger, who specializes in wedding photography for ten years, notes that “couples want spontaneity, emotion, real moments, with, for example, laughter! They no longer ask for group photos.” Based in Saint-Paulet-de-Caisson, Marinne Granger, along with her sister Magali Lepert, a photographer in Saint-Julien-de-Peyrolas, cater to the varied requests of future couples. Among their clients, “many Belgians, Swiss, Germans. They want the south!”

The trend is also to “get married during the week. It’s easier to book venues” remarks the photographer. Also in trend are photo shoots, “for the tenth wedding anniversary, with ceremony outfits.”

Regarding music, for a successful evening, “Abba always works, Dalida has been modernized as well, or even the hit song Sarà perchè ti amo. The music of the 80s is in fashion,” observes Celian Brochenin, a wedding DJ, who specializes in weddings from the ceremony till the end of the night. “I do about fifty weddings a year between Lyon and Marseille, there is a year of reservation,” highlights the young man from Drôme who places his turntables on “bicycles with a story.”
