In K-dramas, some relationships leave a lasting impact as much as the stories on screen. Throughout filming, actors build strong bonds that continue long after the projects end. These friendships are evident on shows, public outings, or on social media, always attracting fans’ attention.

Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook

This friendship began on the set of the K-drama “Goblin” in 2016. Ten years later, their bond remains strong as they continue to work together on various projects. In 2019, Gong Yoo was a guest on the show “Because I Want to Talk”, hosted by Lee Dong Wook.

They reunited for an SK Enmove campaign aired between 2023 and 2024, sharing humorous exchanges. In 2024, they were spotted at an MLB Seoul Series match, sitting just behind Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, sparking reactions online. More recently, they attended a concert with Kim Go Eun, their co-star in “Goblin.”

The Wooga Squad: Park Seo Joon, Park Hyung Sik, Choi Woo Shik, Taehyung, and Peakboy

The name Wooga means “Are we a family?” and reflects the group’s closeness. Park Seo Joon, Park Hyung Sik, and Taehyung of BTS starred together in the K-drama “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth” in 2016, and their bond extended beyond filming.

Park Seo Joon already knew Peakboy and Choi Woo Shik before this project. They often send coffee trucks to each other and participate in each other’s projects. Park Seo Joon made a cameo in the film “Parasite” starring Choi Woo Shik, and Taehyung sang “Christmas Tree” for the original soundtrack of the K-drama “Our Beloved Summer.”

Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Shik, and Taehyung also worked together on “Jinny’s Kitchen,” while Peakboy and Taehyung regularly collaborate on musical projects. They share their moments on Instagram with funny comments and appeared together in “In the Soop: Friendcation,” showcasing their relationship to fans.

IU and Yoo In Na

IU and Yoo In Na met in 2010 on the show “Heroes” before starring together in the K-drama “You Are the Best!” in 2013. In 2017, on the show “Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast,” IU dreamt that they lived in the same building. Despite an 11-year age difference, their friendship remains strong.

In “IU’s Palette,” IU explained that one of the secrets to their relationship is a personal rule she applies only to Yoo In Na: “She would never do anything to hurt me.”

Yoo In Na revealed that their bond works because they are different but complement each other perfectly. During the filming of the K-drama “Scarlet Heart Ryeo,” IU wrote the song “You” for Yoo In Na. Yoo In Na jokes that she agreed not to get married when IU told her they shouldn’t, and she would only change her mind when IU gave her permission.

The Hyung Squad: Jo In Sung, Kim Woo Bin, Do Kyung Soo, Lee Kwang Soo, Song Joong Ki, Cha Tae Hyun, Kim Ki Bang, and Im Joo Hwan

Jo In Sung plays a central role in the Hyung Squad, a group that shows support with food trucks, social media messages, and participation in each other’s projects. Part of the group appeared on the show “Unexpected Business,” with Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun as main members, and Kim Woo Bin, Lee Kwang Soo, and Im Joo Hwan as guests.

Do Kyung Soo’s song “Rose” was also featured on the show. Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun star in Disney+’s K-drama “Moving” together. More recently, Kim Woo Bin, Do Kyung Soo, and Lee Kwang Soo launched the show “Green Bean, Red Bean,” and Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun made guest appearances, as well as in the spin-off “GBRB: Joy Pops Laugh Pops.” Their reunions bring moments of laughter and chaos.

Rowoon, Kim Hye Yoon, and Lee Jae Wook

After starring together in the K-drama “Extraordinary You,” Rowoon, Kim Hye Yoon, and Lee Jae Wook remained close and built a strong friendship. Fans discovered their bond on the show “House on Wheels 4,” where they share filming memories and funny anecdotes.

Kim Hye Yoon, the only girl in the group, is teased and cherished by her two friends. She recently appeared on the show “Fresh off the Sea 2,” where Lee Jae Wook is part of the main cast. Off-screen, they continue to support each other with regular messages on social media.

The Cinderella Seven: Son Ye Jin, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Min Jung, Uhm Ji Won, Oh Yoon Ah, Song Yoon Ah, and Lee Jung Hyun

This group of leading actresses has a rule not to go out after midnight. On the show “Section TV,” Son Ye Jin explained that their gatherings are simple, with home-cooked meals, board games, and long discussions. She added that over time, they stopped drinking and staying out late. The group consists of actresses who started around the same time and are of similar age.

Son Ye Jin plays a central role, and they often appear on each other’s social media. They attend important events like birthdays or weddings. Gong Hyo Jin reportedly caught the bouquet at Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin’s wedding. In the show “You Quiz on the Block,” Lee Min Jung revealed that they have a private celebration cry: “Boom boom boom boom bru boom boom!”

The 99ers: Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Yeon Seok, Jung Kyung Ho, Kim Dae Myung, and Jeon Mi Do

This group formed on the set of the K-drama “Hospital Playlist,” and their name comes from the characters’ graduation year in medical school. Their bond transcends the series and is showcased on the YouTube channel “The Game Caterers,” where their competitive spirit and fun energy entertain viewers.

They reunited on the show “Mountain Village Playlist,” in a quieter setting in the countryside. Even after the series ended, their friendship remains intact. The actors made special appearances in the spin-off “Resident Playbook” and continue to support each other in their projects, whether attending musical comedies, plays, or encouraging each other behind the scenes.
