Far from the big cities, some celebrities have chosen to leave luxurious villas and apartments to settle in the countryside. According to an article from Gala, more and more stars are deciding to live on a farm, in order to find a form of balance and serenity.

Some public figures see the countryside as the ideal refuge to escape stress and the hustle and bustle of Paris. Some own family homes that have been passed down through generations. Others take the plunge by acquiring old farms that they take the time to renovate.

In France, actor Pierre Niney took advantage of the lockdown period to acquire a farm dating back to the 15th century located about an hour from Paris. With his partner Natasha Andrews, he enjoys this peaceful place to recharge and rejuvenate.

Writer and adventurer Sylvain Tesson also regularly visits a farm in Normandy, which belongs to his family. It is in the south of France that actress and comedian Gwendoline Hamon rediscovers her country house, inherited from her grandfather, writer Jean Anouilh.

Living on a farm is becoming an increasingly popular lifestyle choice. Kad Merad and Julia Vignali also chose to settle in an old dairy farm in Burgundy. Although the place was abandoned when the couple acquired it, the actor and the host have transformed it into a very warm living space, surrounded by nature.

Culinary columnist Laurent Mariotte made a similar choice. Very attached to his grandparents’ farm in Piedmont, he regularly returns to enjoy a rural setting that reminds him of his childhood. Actress Lucie Lucas has also decided to settle in a farm in Brittany.

But French stars are not the only ones wanting to enjoy the countryside. George Clooney, who has recently acquired French nationality, owns a beautiful property in Var. He particularly enjoys the great tranquility and beauty of the region.

In the United States as well, celebrities have preferred to leave the big cities. Jennifer Aniston raises chickens on her California property, while actor Mark Ruffalo has made his farm in New York his primary residence. He even cultivates his own vegetable garden. The same goes for the United Kingdom, where James Middleton and his sister Pippa have both invested in farms in Berkshire.
