The 44th festival, scheduled from March 20 to 29, 2026, will feature stars, everyday heroes, education through film, and socially conscious cinema. With 200 screenings lined up, the festival promises to be a major event.

Patrice Terraz’s visual proposal for this edition involves a journey in a Simca 1000 with Yolande Moreau. The program includes about 200 film screenings, as well as encounters with notable personalities like Juliette Binoche and Hiam Abbas.

The festival will kick off with a presentation on Monday, March 9 at 7pm at the Capitole in Alès. Julie Plantier, a long-time festival enthusiast, emphasizes the importance of cinema, public engagement, and support for the art.

Yolande Moreau, the festival’s honorary guest, will be highlighted throughout the event. The festival will showcase works by renowned Japanese director Shōhei Imamura, along with an exhibition of Patrice Terraz’s photography spanning 40 years.

The festival’s complete program can be found on www.itinerances.org. Screenings will take place at the Cratère amphitheater in La Prairie, with ticketing, reception, and a communal bar set up at the heart of the festival in Alès.

The festival aims to promote film education through various initiatives like “School and Cinema” and “Students and Apprentices,” emphasizing the importance of defending cinema in a world filled with distractions. The festival also serves as a platform to amplify voices that often go unheard.

This 44th edition of the Itinérances festival is dedicated to Catherine Augé, who dedicated over thirty years to programming for young audiences.
