The singer from Tarn-et-Garonne, Prade, participated in the famous TF1 show this Saturday. A last-minute turnaround allowed him to qualify for the next phase of the competition.

“It’s going better.” After two minutes of effort, Prade let out a big sigh of relief. He had to wait until the last second, the last note, to convince the jury. On Saturday, the singer from Tarn-et-Garonne took part in the blind auditions of the show The Voice, broadcast on TF1.

Although his nearly spoken-word cover of the song “La Pluie” by rapper SCH did not impress Florent Pagny, Amel Bent, or Lara Fabian, it finally won over another rapper, Tayc. “Thank you, you have helped me grow,” praised the interpreter. “Since the beginning of the season, I have forced myself to stay tough, true to my musical convictions, and very demanding note after note. Often, I hesitate to turn around because the melody I want is missing or there is a wrong note, but with you, I see the potential.”

The Montauban native can now look forward. Thanks to this late but saving buzz, Julian Pradel, his real name, joins Tayc’s team for the next phase of the competition. “It’s daring to cover SCH like that. To turn a rap song into something powerful, it takes a lot of talent,” emphasized the jury member.

There is still a long way to go to reach the end. Around fifty candidates are still in the running. As a reminder, Prade had been discovered at the Montauban en Scènes festival in 2024. His performance on the “discovery stage” had propelled him to the top of the bill. A journey on one of France’s most iconic talent shows could now give him a significant spotlight.
