On April 11, Daum reported that CEO Cha Ga Won is preparing to take strong legal action in response to multiple accusations against her. The CEO’s legal representatives argue that the incident is not just a financial scandal, but stems from a contractual dispute and has been misrepresented. They claim that the partner breached contractual obligations, leading to the suspension of funds meant to compensate for damages and interests during the dispute resolution process.
On the other hand, Cha Ga Won’s team has denied the 30 billion won (over 500 billion VND) fraud allegations, stating that it is the result of an “organized attack campaign” to pressure the company’s management and control.
The lawyer emphasized that they will fully participate in the investigation process, including examining digital data to prove Cha Ga Won’s innocence. Additionally, the CEO claims that the current financial difficulties, including delays in paying artists, are due to external pressures and a negative media campaign affecting the company’s cash flow and reputation.
As long as the legal dispute remains unresolved, the wave of artists departing from the ecosystem led by Cha Ga Won, which includes One Hundred, Big Planet Made, and INB100, continues to spread. Many artists such as Taemin, VIVIZ group, and Lee Seung Gi have terminated their contracts with Big Planet Made. Meanwhile, the nine members of The Boyz have requested contract termination with One Hundred. The trio consisting of Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin has also taken a similar step, exacerbating internal tensions.
In response to this wave of departures, the company stated that it is striving to stabilize its operations and asserted that the issues were being resolved through negotiation.
The incident has garnered significant media attention.
