After sharing her life for five years with Rick Allison, her partner at the time, Lara Fabian went on to have a highly publicized romance with Patrick Fiori. She then found happiness with Jean-Félix Lalanne (Francis’ brother) before meeting Gérard Pullicino, the father of her daughter Lou, born in 2007. However, since 2012, the singer has been in a relationship with a discreet and somewhat mysterious man: Gabriel Di Giorgio, the Sicilian magician who has become “the love of all her lives,” as she puts it.
Gabriel and Lara met in 2012 in Acireale, Sicily, Lara’s mother’s hometown. Lara was working as a vocal coach for the musical “Casanova” at the time. “He looks at me but doesn’t say a word. On that day, I am a washed-out version of myself: not styled, not made up, and not really dressed to my advantage,” she recalled in a 2019 interview with Paris Match. “However… I would later learn that in one look, Gabriel was certain: ‘I am the woman of his life!’ ” She was 42 at the time, and he was 29.
After getting to know each other, Lara and Gabriel confessed their love a few months after their meeting. And there was no waiting: in June 2013, they married in complete intimacy. “It was like an evidence,” shared the interpreter of “Je t’aime.” “To celebrate this union, Gabriel gave me a bright hematite. Since then, I always keep it with me. It’s my good luck charm. This stone reminds me that I am loved. Infinitely. A Sicilian loves his wife in a sacred way and protects her. Thanks to Gabriel, I believe in love again.”
Gabriel immediately bonded with Lou, the singer’s daughter: “They immediately had an incredible connection, as if they were linked in another life.” They did not have children together. In 2017, Lara became pregnant but “my baby had no heart,” she revealed in a 2020 documentary aired on Canadian television.
In an episode of “La Boîte à secrets” on France 3 in January 2025, the discreet Gabriel expressed his love for Lara through a letter: “Thank you, my love, for being this incredible woman, this perfect mom, this pillar of our life. I am so proud of you, of all that you have accomplished, and I want you to know that, no matter what happens, I will always be by your side. Your friend, your love, your support, your refuge. I love you, Lara.” These words touched the singer deeply, and she responded, in tears: “I am so lucky to be the wife of this angel. You can’t imagine. He is the pillar of this family.”
And the magic in all of this? Being married to a magician allowed Lara Fabian “to see another side of appearances and especially to see that sometimes an appearance can create astonishment, joy, and reconnect us to our inner child rather than just being a facade,” she explained on Europe 1 in 2024. And let it be clear, “I am one of those magician’s wives who don’t want to know the trick. Because, in addition, I am married to an engineer magician, so someone who designs the engineering behind the trick we see. So he doesn’t just perform it, he creates it.” At their home, there is a laboratory-workshop where he designs his tricks – which he also sells to other magicians.
