On TF1, viewers will soon say goodbye to the smile of Tatiana Silva. After nearly nine years at the helm of the weekend news, the Belgian presenter is leaving the channel and the TF1 group. At 41, she will present her last news bulletin on Sunday, April 12 at 9 p.m. A departure that raises questions about what comes next, for her and for TF1 news.
A final prime time news and a review of nine years on TF1
Sunday night, Tatiana Silva’s last news bulletin will be broadcast in prime time, symbolizing the years she spent embodying TF1 news. Arriving in early 2017 to replace Catherine Laborde, she quickly found her place in a highly exposed slot on the leading channel. TF1 also entrusted her with early evening slots and propelled her onto other channels within the group.
In addition to the news, Tatiana Silva has hosted the Sunday magazine “Les Docs du Week-end” on TF1 and “90′ Enquêtes” on TMC. A former model and Miss Belgium 2005, she had previously worked for RTBF, M6, and TV5 Monde before joining TF1. Her participation in “Dancing with the Stars” in 2017, where she finished third with Christophe Licata, further boosted her popularity with the general public. In January 2025, she also became the mother of a baby boy, June, after a highly followed maternity leave.
Why Tatiana Silva is leaving TF1 news and who will succeed her
This time, it’s not just a break like during her pregnancy: Tatiana Silva has tendered her resignation to the TF1 group. She explains that she wants to write a “new chapter of her life,” without revealing the content for now. Her departure also concerns her magazines, which she will bid farewell to later in the season, once the already recorded episodes have aired.
For the weekend news, Louis Bodin, who already alternated with her every other Sunday, will take over temporarily. Internally, the head of the news department, Évelyne Dhéliat, states: “TF1 will soon announce the name of the person who will succeed Tatiana Silva.” An internal recruitment is favored within TF1. As for “Les Docs du Week-end” and “90′ Enquêtes,” the channel already has a stock of recorded episodes, giving them a few months to introduce new faces.
