The Majestic cinema held its general assembly on Tuesday, April 7th in Saint-Pol-de-Léon. Treasurer Jean-Claude Jourdren announced 24,697 admissions in 2025, a decrease of 16.40% compared to 2024, which was an exceptional year. 245 films were screened, including 132 Art and Experimental films during 581 screenings. The top films in terms of admissions were “En fanfare,” “Vaiana 2,” “Mufasa, the Lion King,” “God save the Tuche,” and “Lilo and Stitch.” The cinema participated in various national events such as the short film festival, Spring of Cinema, cinema festival, and European Art and Experimental Cinema Day. It also continued the screening of “Eté 44,” with 2,136 admissions, and renewed the Cinépro festival organized by Kreisker high school students.

More screenings The projects presented by the elected co-presidents, Gisèle Méar and François Tanguy, include more screenings, a screening every afternoon during spring break and Tuesday evenings this month, a surprise film on a Tuesday each month, cinema-debate sessions scheduled on April 11th and 26th at 5:15 pm. There was also a vote to modify the screening times. In winter, the evening screening will start at 8:15 pm instead of 8:45 pm.

A renovated structure The major project undertaken in 2025 was the renovation of the hall (seats and carpet). The cost of the operation, totaling €123,867 excluding VAT, was significantly reduced due to the participation of municipal employees in site preparation, as well as subsidies from the regional council (€24,760) and CNC support fund (€29,520 plus a repayable advance of €28,000). Jean-Paul Prioux created a film showing all the stages of the renovation.

Some technical changes have also occurred: the management of the website is now handled by Money Service. Paper holiday vouchers are being phased out in favor of digital vouchers. The board of directors elections unanimously re-elected Gisèle Méar, Marie-Annick Le Léa, Murielle Philippot, Thierry Rohou, and Anne Marie Seité.

Note Ciné-debate on April 11th at 5:15 pm, “Café sans filtre,” with the co-director present, and on April 26th at 5:15 pm, “Compostelle,” with Rose Faujour present.
