One of the criticisms that can be made is the increasingly cluttered interface, often with elements that interfere with the peaceful listening of music, while consuming resources unnecessarily. Rendre Spotify moins lourd et gourmand en 2 clics The option to disable Canvases (brief looped visuals displayed for songs) already existed. Similarly, parents with a family subscription could already disable all videos displayed on Spotify for users under 13.
Now, this last functionality is accessible to all users, both free and paid. Moreover, it is possible to choose what to disable or leave active. In addition to the checkbox dedicated to Canvases, two other checkboxes allow you to control the presence of videos for music videos and live songs, as well as for other types of videos (vertical, creators…).
On mobile, these options can be found in the “Content and Display” tab in settings. On desktop, head to “Display Settings” in preferences.
