Aubrey Plaza has become a mother. The 41-year-old American actress is expecting her first child with her partner Chris Abbott, according to information from PEOPLE published on Tuesday, April 7. According to a source in the American media, the birth is expected this fall. An actress representative then confirmed the information to PEOPLE.
Aubrey Plaza is known to the French public for her role in season 2 of the series The White Lotus. She started a romantic relationship with actor Chris Abbott in the summer of 2025. Abbott notably appeared in the series Girls (2012-2016) and the film Black Bear (2020), alongside Aubrey Plaza. They also starred in the play Danny and the Deep Blue Sea in 2023.
The actress’s previous relationship made headlines at the beginning of last year when her husband, director Jeff Baena, died by suicide in Los Angeles. This happened a few months after their discreet separation. They were married in 2021 and collaborated on several professional projects.
Three days after the tragedy, Aubrey Plaza spoke out. “It is an unimaginable tragedy. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered their support. Please respect our privacy during this time,” she said via a statement.
“Overall, I’m here, I’m functioning, and I feel truly grateful to be able to move forward in life. I’m doing well. But, you know, it’s a daily struggle,” the actress later affirmed in a podcast.
