In an Instagram comment, now deleted, Gigi Hadid spoke out for the first time regarding her presence in the Epstein files. Indeed, her name and that of her sister, Bella, are mentioned.
Like many people cited in the infamous Epstein case documents, she never met the sex criminal. Yet her name does appear in the files released by the U.S. Department of Justice on January 30th. “How did the Hadid sisters become models and earn so much money?! I don’t understand…” pondered an individual, whose identity was masked, in an email to Jeffrey Epstein in December 2015. “You know well,” replied the American financier before the conversation clarified: “It’s their father who paid the agency.” “Too many girls are giving blowjobs,” this same person then added. “I agree,” responded Jeffrey Epstein. Since the release of these messages, Bella and Gigi Hadid had not yet responded. But recently, Bradley Cooper’s partner was confronted on Instagram about this. A follower explained that they intended to unfollow the model’s account because she had not addressed these issues. “It made me nauseous,” Gigi Hadid replied before explaining in a lengthy message.
“Unrelated to this repugnant human being”
In her comment, which has now been deleted, Gigi Hadid explains how she felt when she saw her name mentioned in the documents linked to the investigation on the sex criminal. “It’s awful to read someone you’ve never met talk about you in this way. Especially in this context,” she wrote according to Page Six. “I didn’t react because I didn’t want to overshadow the testimonies of his real victims; but your comment made me realize that maybe it wasn’t clear – and it’s important that you know.”
In her message, the famous model explained that she had the privilege of growing up in a privileged environment and that her parents always protected her. She particularly stated that they taught her “the value of hard work” and that since her early days in the fashion industry, she has never “ceased to work hard.” “Being mentioned in these files – I think I was 20 or 21 at the time he wrote that email – is troubling. And I want to state unequivocally that I have never had any connection with this repugnant human being,” she added before concluding her message with: “May he rest in hell,” using flame emojis to illustrate the word “hell.” As for her sister Bella, who is also mentioned in the case documents, she has not spoken out on the matter as of yet.
