President of France Emmanuel Macron recently concluded a state visit to South Korea, marked by several highlights with major figures in Korean cultural scene. Through his publications, he showcased his interest in K-culture, a phenomenon that continues to gain international recognition.

On Instagram, the head of state shared a short video with the caption “Finger Heart” (heart). He is seen taking a selfie with Felix’s phone while the song “Victory Song” by Stray Kids plays in the background. The idol, also an honorary ambassador for the 140th anniversary of relations between France and Korea, thanked the president in French in a simple and friendly manner.

The president also posted a group photo taken at a cultural banquet before his departure. The picture includes several personalities such as Jun Ji Hyun, Jeon Jong Seo, Noh Sang Hyun, and singer Psy, alongside his wife.

During an official lunch with business leaders, including Lee Jae Yong, Emmanuel Macron expressed his commitment to the relations between the two countries. He mentioned author Han Kang, referring to “a golden thread connecting our hearts,” to illustrate the links between France and Korea over the past 140 years.

This visit, the first by a French president to South Korea in eleven years, also allowed both nations to affirm their desire to collaborate more in areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and nuclear energy.
