Every summer, far from the television studios, Nagui swaps the studios for the sunshine of Saint-Tropez. The iconic host of France 2, now 62 years old, reunites with his family and loved ones in a Provençal villa acquired in 1997, which over time has become a place full of personal history and memories. Located in the highly coveted Capon district, this house with a sea view, pool, and large wooded area attracts attention not only for its real estate value but also for the events that take place there every summer: reunions among celebrities, family moments, but also discreet commitments to underprivileged youth.
A villa in Saint-Tropez that has become a symbol of Nagui’s success
In 1997, at the age of 35, Nagui invested in this old Provençal building for 9 million francs, approximately 1.9 million euros. At the time, the host financed this purchase through credit, a decision that proved to be particularly wise. Today, the property is estimated to be worth between 8 and 10 million euros, according to various sources. A remarkable valuation, driven by the scarcity of properties in this sought-after area of the French Riviera.
In response to questions about his success, the host responded candidly in the columns of “Libération”: “I’ve made money, but I haven’t stolen it, it’s been seen on screen.” Perched on the heights, the villa offers a breathtaking view of the sea, a pool, and several living spaces designed to accommodate family and friends in a secluded setting.
A house of happiness between celebrities and generosity
Over the years, this second home has become a true summer meeting point. Nagui regularly welcomes relatives and well-known personalities to the villa. Journalist Renée Chiche describes, in her book “Nagui, enfant de la télé”, these privileged moments: “As with Didier Deschamps, Nagui enjoys hosting the Cymes family for a few days at his villa in Saint-Tropez between boat trips with his friend Deschamps and a few tanning sessions on the Pampelonne beach.”
But the villa is not just limited to these reunions with famous friends. Every summer, the host also opens his doors to “young people who do not go on vacation, in association with the Secours catholique.” A discreet gesture that gives another dimension to this place, far from the image of a simple luxury residence.
In Saint-Tropez, Nagui and Mélanie Page began their story
This Saint-Tropez house also holds a special place in the host’s personal life. It is here that he met, in 2000, the woman who would become his wife, Mélanie Page. The actress recalls, during her appearance on the show “Je t’aime, etc.” on France 2, their first meeting humorously: “It was in Saint-Tropez and we met at his place. I was sort of a chaperone for a friend he had invited, and I told her, ‘Don’t go, it’s a trap!’ So I went to protect her!”
From Nagui’s perspective, the memory remains just as striking, as he told Purepeople: “As soon as I saw her, I was charmed. But she made me wait!” Their relationship built gradually, as the actress revealed: “At the beginning, we weren’t necessarily ready to start a relationship but we took it very slowly. We didn’t live together quickly, we didn’t say ‘I love you’ very quickly, and things happened over time.” Since then, the couple, married in 2010, returns every summer to this villa with their children, making this place more than just a second home, but a true family anchor point.
