Screening of We are not our parents and debate on Cinema and social struggles

The Citroën factory in Aulnay-sous-Bois saw its first strike by immigrant workers in 1982. Thirty years later, a new generation follows in their footsteps. The workers, proud inheritors of their parents, bring back memories of past struggles, offering a unique perspective on contemporary French history.

By listening to the voices of immigrant workers who have been organizing since the 1980s for equal rights, “On n’est pas nos parents” helps to spread the often overlooked contributions of immigrant communities to the country’s social struggles. This film screening provides an opportunity to revisit our collective memory and inspire future battles with new images.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the film team, organized by the collective MBPS, “Sous les écrans la dèche,” and members of La Clef. The event will take place at the recently reopened La Clef cinema, owned by an association that offers pay-what-you-can screenings.
