The former Miss France Elodie Gossuin is currently in Dubai and is sharing updates on the bombings to her social media followers. She is hoping for France’s protection amidst the chaos. The city in the United Arab Emirates has faced explosions and fires following Iran’s retaliation against American and Israeli strikes, resulting in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. While most of the missiles aimed at American military bases in the region were intercepted, debris from the missiles fell on Dubai.

Various infrastructures, including the famous artificial palm-shaped island The Palm, have been affected. The airspace has been completely closed since the attacks, preventing any evacuation by commercial flights. Concerned and uninformed about the situation, several personalities have reached out to their followers for advice. Maeva Ghennam, a reality TV star who has been living in the Emirates for years, has called out for France’s protection.

Other French celebrities on vacation in Dubai, like Agathe Auproux and Elodie Gossuin, found themselves trapped and anxious far from home. The French embassy in the UAE reiterated the inability to leave the territory due to the closed airspace, advising citizens to strictly follow safety guidelines.

Amidst the ongoing conflicts in Iran and neighboring countries, the French government spokesperson, Maud Bregeon, mentioned that France is ready to evacuate its citizens from the Middle East “when the situation allows,” as reported by RTL/M6/Le Figaro/Public Senate’s Grand Jury.
