At 14 years old, Elfigo was the youngest DJ in the Tomorrowland Winter lineup. Between school days and sets in the snow, the student is making a name for himself on international stages.
Do you remember what you were doing at 14 years old? School days, homework, maybe a first cellphone, a few crushes. But nothing quite like DJing at one of the biggest electronic music festivals, in the middle of the snow. It was in this setting that Elfigo, 14 years old, performed two sets at the Tomorrowland Winter festival in March at Alpe d’Huez.
Minutes after making hundreds of people dance in the cold, 20 Minutes had the chance to meet him. A portrait of a student who is not quite like the others, already performing on the biggest stages, and whose story started on a couch, in front of Tomorrowland.
Snowstorm and enthusiastic crowd
On stage, the young Belgian DJ Elfigo (real name Elias) set the place on fire. However, the experience is still almost surreal for him. “The Frozen Lotus, honestly, it was incredible. People actually came despite the snowstorm,” he said, still impacted by his set. But it was elsewhere that he had his favorite moment: “On the Brass stage, that was really amazing. It was like a Boiler Room… It was incredible. I can even say that it’s what I preferred.” A format closer to the audience, which he particularly enjoys.
At this age, what is striking is his ability to analyze his sensations as a DJ. He talks about a “communion” with the audience, proximity, almost like a seasoned artist.
