According to director Christopher Nolan, it is “the absolute reference”. Good news for all cinema lovers: Pathé Montataire cinema in Oise has just opened the very first immersive Imax room in the Oise region in early April 2026. A “revolutionary” technology, but above all a logical continuation for the largest multiplex in the department, which opened its 14 screens to the public for the first time in January 2001.
Vive the 7th Art in an Immersive Way
With exceptional comfort, immersive sound, and “breathtaking images” thanks to its extraordinary 175 m² screen, Pathé Montataire promises to offer a cinema experience like never before.
The effect is particularly striking during 3D screenings, where the intensity, contrast, and brightness of the images are striking.
With a capacity of 309 seats and 8 PMR locations, this new room “guarantees unparalleled sharpness and precision, with colors ‘close to what the human eye perceives in the real world’.”
Immersive 360-Degree Sound
The sound is equally impressive: with 12 channels distributed from the screen to the back of the room, every sound, from the subtlest whisper to the deepest rumble, is as perceptible as it is tangible.
“Even the flutter of a butterfly’s wings is perceptible,”
Super Mario Galaxy in the Spotlight
Audiences in the south of Oise can experience Imax by attending screenings of Super Mario Galaxy, currently in theaters.
Expect to pay approximately €8 more for a 2D screening and €9 more for a 3D screening compared to regular prices, according to Pathé’s communication service.
