The second edition of the CinéRire festival delighted the audience with a diverse program dedicated to humor.

On Saturday, 28th and Sunday, 29th March, the festival took place at the town hall and was organized by Mélialeltres and Cinéimaginaire. This event met the expectations of the organizers. Throughout these two days, laughter took various forms: a social and psychological phenomenon, a means of releasing tension, questioning conventions and norms, as well as being joyous and inspiring. The films screened provided each viewer with a unique opportunity to find their own “Proust’s madeleine”.

A varied program catered to all tastes. The selection included a wide range of genres such as classic comedy with Laurel and Hardy, historical comedy in costumes with La folie des grandeurs, societal comedy with Les profs, family comedy with Chers parents or Les garçons et Guillaume, à table, and even more unconventional but equally funny works like Alter ego or Le clan.

The second daily edition of the festival was a real success, with over 200 entries recorded during this lively weekend. The audience responded well and fully enjoyed the event.

To create an authentic neighborhood cinema atmosphere, the hall was carefully decorated with posters, a cash desk, bar, and sweets reminiscent of a final showing, setting the festive mood. The comfort of the seats in the hall surpassed that of the typical weekly screenings, enhancing the feeling of returning to the good old neighborhood cinema.

Two films, Chers parents and Alter ego, both released in March 2026, particularly captivated the audience. The other films, although older and seen multiple times, were warmly appreciated for their quality and timeless humor.

The president of Mélialeltres, Cathy Räbuget, expressed her gratitude to all the festival partners, especially Cinéimaginaire, and the volunteers who worked to ensure the success of this second edition, in addition to the municipal services. She dedicated the 2026 edition to Guy Schmidt, a deceased member of the association, passionate about the 7th art and faithful accomplice. Finally, she invited the public to the next edition in 2027.

Through the quality and diversity of their programming, Mélialeltres and Cinéimaginaire demonstrate their ability to satisfy a large audience and revive the warm atmosphere of local cinema.

Next screening: Wednesday, 8th April, 8:30 pm, town hall. “Ceux qui comptent,” a dramatic comedy directed by Jean-Baptiste Léonetti, released in 2026, starring Sandrine Kiberlain and Pierre Lottion.
