When the seasons change, the desire for renewal naturally arises. New energy, new desires… and often, a trip to the hairdresser. Changing your hairstyle can do a lot of good for your morale, but you need to choose the right cut. Because over time, not all cuts are equal. Some can illuminate the face and bring a breath of fresh air, while others may harden the features and age the look.
That’s what celebrity hairdresser Jennifer Korab explains in an interview with the media Parade. According to her, hair has an impact similar to makeup: the right style can really influence the perception of age.
The length to avoid to not age your face according to the hairdresser
In this interview, Jennifer Korab warns against certain unflattering lengths. She explains in particular that very long and heavy hair can “pull the face down,” giving a more tired appearance.
She also advises against cuts with a single length, without layers. According to her, this type of hairstyle can appear flat and lack movement, which does not help to highlight the features. The same goes for straight shoulder-length bobs: without layers, they do not structure the face and can accentuate a stricter effect.
The right cut to adopt to rejuvenate
For the specialist, cuts full of movement, delicately framing the face, are always a good idea. Her favorite remains the medium-long bob, also known as the “lob.” She points out that it is “long enough to style, but short enough to avoid heaviness,” while beautifully highlighting the features.
More generally, Jennifer Korab emphasizes the importance of layers and strands around the face. She explains that “hair framing the face with soft layers or movement lift the features, add volume, and create a more youthful appearance.”
In practice, focusing on a medium length, volume, and a well-structured cut immediately brings more freshness to the face without changing everything.
