In the midst of current events regarding the challenges faced by the agricultural world, “La Guerre des prix” by Anthony Dechaux will be the subject of an evening event on Friday 17th. The screening will be followed by a debate with the presence of the peasant federation.

Among the standout films, “Yellow Letters” by Ilker Çatak, which won the Golden Bear in Berlin this year, stands out. It denounces the Erdogan regime in Turkey through the story of a professor and an actress who lose their jobs. “Romería” by the Spanish director Carla Simón portrays a young girl in search of her origins. “Sauvage” features a strong performance by Céline Sallette as a mother dealing with her daughter’s return to nature in the Cévennes. Additionally, there will be a lesser-known Maigret film, with Denis Podalydès facing a “lovesick dead man.”

In April, Ciné Cinéma will participate for the first time in the Student Film Festival, with two classic films chosen by young people from Périgord: “Virgin Suicides” by Sofia Coppola on Wednesday 1st, and “Stand By Me” by Rob Reiner on Friday 3rd (with a €3 entry for students).

Two films will be shown in partnership with l’Odyssée: “Gone Girl” by David Fincher, focusing on manipulations, and “Tandem” by Patrice Leconte, set in the world of radio. Fans of Orson Welles can look forward to “The Lady from Shanghai.”

During the school holidays, there will be a range of offerings for young audiences. “Planètes” envisions a nuclear explosion destroying the Earth, with four dandelion seeds developing elsewhere in the cosmos. “L’Odyssée de Céleste” tells a story of friendship between a girl and a robot. Lastly, “Le Secret du loup d’Éthiopie” will captivate with images of a predator foraging flowers, shot by Baptiste Deturche and Adrien Lesaffre.
