The cinema lover’s agenda: seven events not to be missed the week of March 30

Paris is a feast for cinephiles. But not everyone has time to read the menu. To help you choose, we are launching this Cinephile Agenda in which you will find carefully selected outings for the next seven days. Bon appétit!

Festival: Taiwanese Film Festival. About ten recent and mostly unreleased films from the young generation of Taiwanese filmmakers, including “Before the Bright Day” by Shih-Han Tsao, in competition at the last San Sebastian Festival but with an unknown French release date.
From April 1st to April 10th, 2026, at the Filmothèque du Quartier Latin, Paris 5.

Cine-club: “Looking at the world and society from a scientific angle,” promises the Epsiloon Cine-club, hosted by journalist Perrine Quennesson, presenting the excellent “Proxima” by Alice Winocour, with astronaut Claudie Haigneré in attendance.
On Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at 5 Caumartin, Paris 9.

Classic film on the big screen: The radical, hated, or revered film “Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom” by Pier Paolo Pasolini (1975), will be introduced by Hervé Joubert-Laurencin, a renowned expert on Pasolini’s work, who will contextualize this controversial film.
On Wednesday, April 1st, 2026, at 8:30 pm, at the Cinémathèque Française, Paris 12.

Exhibition: “The Invisible Building Site. Behind the Scenes of Jean-Jacques Annaud’s Films” has just started, so you have time, but don’t miss it.
Until October 31, 2026, at the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé, Paris 13.

Premiere: Claire Denis returns in top form with a new Franco-Senegalese film adaptation of Bernard-Marie Koltès. “Le Cri des Gardes” will be released on April 8th but will be screened as a premiere, with tickets going on sale a week before.

Cinema Walk: We love Juliette Dubois’ walks, tested and approved multiple times. In “Agnès Varda’s Paris”, you will walk around the Montparnasse district, around rue Daguerre. It costs €17, and you can reserve here.

Cinema Course: “From Jane Austen to ‘Bridgerton Chronicles: the period drama with a pop twist,'” this is the enticing title of the conference that author Jennifer Padjemi will give as part of the “Jane Austen Forever” cycle. Reservation recommended (€5).
