Laurent Ruquier and Arielle Dombasle at Isabelle Mergault’s funeral on March 30, 2026
Many couldn’t hold back their tears. Père-Lachaise was packed to the brim on Monday, March 30, for Isabelle Mergault’s funeral. Numerous celebrities from the world of television and theater came together to pay their final respects to the comedian and director who passed away at the age of 67.
The sunny morning allowed the personalities present at the Parisian cemetery to conceal their emotions. Among the crowd were Isabelle Mergault’s former colleagues who came to bid her farewell. Laurent Ruquier, her long-time friend with whom she shared the stage on television and radio for three decades, was naturally in attendance.
Also present was TV host Christine Bravo, who openly expressed her sadness on social media and her surprise at learning about her friend’s illness. There was a reunion of sorts with the likes of Isabelle Alonso and former reality TV star Steevy Boulay, a regular on the radio show Grosses Têtes for many years.

Additionally, actors Michèle Bernier, Antoine Duléry, Jean-Michel Tinivelli, Danièle Evenou, Arielle Dombasle, and Armelle Lesniak were present. TV presenter and actor Jean-Luc Reichmann was also there, having shared the stage with Isabelle Mergault in the play Le Bracelet.
Many figures from the world of comedy, such as Anne Roumanoff, Raphaël Mezrahi, Jérémy Ferrari, and Yves Lecoq, were seen, along with media personalities like Marc-Olivier Fogiel, Karine Le Marchand, and Valérie Trierweiler.
Isabelle Mergault passed away on March 20 from cancer that had not been publicized. An actress, comedian, and filmmaker, she notably directed the film Je vous trouve très beau with Michel Blanc, winning the César Award for Best First Feature Film in 2007. Following this public farewell at Père-Lachaise, Isabelle Mergault will be buried privately at the Montmartre cemetery.
