Christina Applegate was revealed to the general public in the late 1980s in the series “Married with Children”. She has had a successful career since then, notably marked by her role in the series “Dead to Me”, which aired on Netflix starting in 2019. Unfortunately, in August 2021, the actress was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that causes cognitive, motor, and sensory disturbances.

In an interview with People magazine, excerpts of which were published on the website on February 24, 2026, and will be released in full on March 3, 2026, Christina Applegate speaks about the challenges posed by the disease, especially with her family and her 15-year-old daughter, Sadie.

Christina Applegate is often bedridden due to persistent pain related to her multiple sclerosis. She explains that she still tries to do simple activities, such as taking her daughter to school. “I want to take her; that’s what I prefer to do,” she told People. “It’s the only time we are alone. I tell myself, ‘I just need to take her to her destination safely and then come home to lie down.’ And that’s what I do.”

According to the actress, being confined to her room has allowed her to be more spontaneous. “My life is not a fairy tale,” she says with honesty. “People’s lives, excuse my language, are sometimes really crappy. So I try to be as honest and authentic as possible.”

In a 2024 episode of the MeSsy Podcast, Christina Applegate had revealed how her disease had affected her daughter. She described witnessing her daughter look at her when she was in bed and unable to move. She also shared how Sadie had regularly supported her, assisting her in public outings and helping her use her cane.
