Disneyland Paris unveils a massive expansion this Sunday, featuring the village of Arendelle, a three-hectare artificial lake, and unprecedented attractions. With years of construction and a €2 billion investment, the second park is rebranded as “Disney Adventure World.”
After several years of work, Disneyland Paris in Seine-et-Marne opens its new expansion to the public, anchored by the Frozen-themed zone. Central to this area is a three-hectare lake designed for nighttime shows with water jets, pyrotechnic effects, and hundreds of aerial and aquatic drones.
One highlight is the “Frozen Ever After” attraction, which transports visitors to Anna and Elsa’s frozen world for a boat ride accompanied by music, river descents, and encounters with key characters from the classic film. This expansion aims to boost the appeal of Walt Disney Studios, the second park at Disneyland Paris, which will be renamed “Disney Adventure World” to mark the occasion.
The investment in this project, which began in 2018, has been seen as a sign of Disney’s confidence in France, Europe, and the leadership of President Macron. The president himself has praised the investment and will visit the park to highlight the economic development, job creation, and enhanced attractiveness of France.
Disneyland Paris expects its new attractions to draw more visitors, prolonging stays and increasing nighttime visits to the region. As Disneyland Paris continues to evolve, its transformation will nearly double the park’s size, offering an array of shops, restaurants, and unique experiences for guests.
Disneyland Paris remains a key economic and touristic driver, supporting tens of thousands of indirect jobs, and attracting foreign operators looking for fresh offerings. The park’s role in boosting the economic and touristic appeal of the region is highlighted by officials, who leverage Disney’s influence to showcase other sites like the Fontainebleau castle.
Though Disney has warned of extended wait times during the opening period, the anticipation surrounding the new expansion signals a promising future for Disneyland Paris as a premier destination for entertainment and tourism.
