The recent wave of arrests in the investigation into the voluntary transmission of HIV/AIDS to sexual partners has caused shockwaves in the Senegalese showbiz and among their close associates. Several known profiles have been arrested by authorities, sparking concern and speculation about the health status of their inner circles.
One of the most publicized episodes involves the employees of businesswoman and influencer Mame Ndiaye Savon. After the arrest of these employees, the businesswoman, who recently married one of her former employees, Souleymane Dia aka “Fou”, chose to have her serological status as well as that of her husband checked. The tests came back negative for both, as she presented in a video shared on her social networks, in order to reassure her clients and followers about their health.
This action also aims to dispel any doubts about possible contamination in their close circle. Mame Ndiaye Savon specified that she had dedicated her day to these tests, explaining her temporary absence from her professional activities. The businesswoman emphasized transparency and the need not to let rumors linger about her health or that of her husband.
Other figures in this social circle have followed the same example. TikToker Nogaye Kara, a close friend of Mame Ndiaye Savon and the arrested employees, announced that her tests were also negative, dispelling any concerns about possible contamination. Adji Mass, very close to this group, confirmed her negative results. Likewise, socialite Rangou had published her negative results the day after the disclosure of the serological status of presenter Pape Cheikh Diallo and several other people involved in the case.
