A tornado hit northern Oklahoma on Thursday, April 23, causing at least 10 injuries.
A dark swirling cloud violently descended from the sky to the ground. Local channel KOCO News captured footage of the tornado that injured at least 10 people on Thursday near Enid, in northern Oklahoma (in the central United States). The severe weather phenomenon caused significant damage, particularly affecting Vance Air Force Base.
Verifications are ongoing
The air force base confirmed the tornado impact in a Facebook post and stated that they were conducting verifications to ensure that all personnel were safe. “The base leadership is currently assessing the facilities to determine the extent of the damage and ensure the safety of buildings and infrastructure,” specified Vance Air Force Base.
Enid Mayor David Mason stated that the city’s police and fire department personnel were coordinating emergency response efforts and urged residents to stay away from the Grayridge area, which was particularly hard hit by the tornado.
