The stormy mistral has forced the organizers of the Plan Séquence festival in l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue to relocate their first programming of this Friday, March 27, to the shelter in the cinema courtyard.

Until Sunday, March 29, this unique event in France allows visitors to discover the cinema industry, meet specialists in the field, and participate in several activities.

Context: The festival offers a chance to learn about cinema professions and participate in different events.

An expert jury:

On Friday, March 27, during the “Cinema Professions” workshop, several experts shared their expertise and experiences, including Jean-Louis Milesi, screenwriter; Jean-Luc Piacentino, author, director, producer; Aurélie Blond, cinema makeup artist; Arnaud Ban, director in Avignon, and the technicians from Airo Formation (image, sound, light).

Context: The festival includes workshops led by experts from the cinema industry.

The festival’s uniqueness lies in the screening of short films consisting of a single “sequence shot,” a continuous filmed scene. About thirty films, produced by directors from across Europe, compete during a screening on Saturday, March 28.

At the end of the screening, a jury of six experts, led by President Jean-Luc Piacentino along with other members, will rank the best short films. A screening of a non-competitive film, “made in Vaucluse,” will also take place beforehand at 11 a.m.

Lastly, on the final day, Sunday, March 29, the focus will be on writing and filming short films using the sequence shot technique.

Friday, March 27

– From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (free): activities related to cinema professions – 7 p.m. concert in Place Rose Goudard: “The peanuts” (pop/rock) – 9 p.m. (7.50 euros) screening of “Birdman,” a film shot in a single sequence shot (4 Oscars, including Best Picture in 2014)

Saturday, March 28

– 11 a.m. (free) screening of short films “made in Vaucluse” (out of competition) – 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (5 euros) two-part screening (with a 10-minute break) of competitive short films. Awards ceremony by jury President Jean-Luc Piacentino (director). – 6 p.m. meeting between festival-goers at “17 place aux vins” – 8 p.m. indoor concert: “Coverage Music Band” (pop/rock/funk)

Sunday, March 29

– 2 p.m. (free) improvised creations workshop (participatory, open to all). Writing and filming of short films in “sequence shot” technique from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
