Rouen – Bordeaux
The last time Rouen and Bordeaux met in the playoffs was in the 2023-2024 final. The Dragons were crowned champions after the sixth game of the series. This time, will the Boxers take their revenge? In the regular season, Rouen prevailed with three victories, including two at Mériadeck. However, the Bordeaux team has shown their strength by remaining undefeated at home in the quarter-finals (three victories). To secure a spot in the final, the Aquitains will need to find a way past Macmillan Carruth, who only conceded 1.1 goals on average in the quarter-finals with two shutouts. Special teams could be the key for Bordeaux as they have the best powerplay percentage (23%) and 90% penalty kill efficiency in the playoffs. Tomas Simonsen and Chase Gresock have been standout players with seven points each in the quarter-finals. Will they deliver a similar performance in the semi-finals?

Regular season matchups:

  • September 16: Bordeaux 2-4 Rouen
  • November 30: Rouen 2-3 (shootout) Bordeaux
  • January 13: Rouen 6-2 Bordeaux
  • March 1: Bordeaux 2-3 Rouen

Grenoble – Angers
Following the 2024 Synerglace Magnus League final rematch, we have the 2024-2025 season showdown between Grenoble and Angers. These teams also met in the 2022 final, with Grenoble emerging victorious in all instances by the end of the fifth match. The home-ice advantage for the Isérois could be significant in this series, as all four regular season games were won by the home team. Both teams have strong goaltenders, with Jacob Smith for Angers and Matija Pintaric for Grenoble achieving two shutouts each. Pintaric will face the top scorer of the quarter-finals, Olivier Archambault, who has been outstanding for the Ducs. François Beauchemin is not far behind, closely following his opponent in the top scorers’ list with eight points.

Regular season matchups:

  • September 16: Angers 6-3 Grenoble
  • November 30: Grenoble 6-4 Angers
  • December 23: Grenoble 3-1 Angers
  • January 30: Angers 4-3 (shootout) Grenoble
