Erwin Feuchtmann is set to leave Fenix Toulouse at the end of the season after six seasons with the Toulouse team. The Chilean international opens up about his situation, his love for the game, and his passions for activities like mountain climbing, ahead of the Limoges match on Friday, a clash in the 21st round of Starligue.

“How did you experience the recent defeat against PSG (lost 39-21)?” Feuchtmann said, “It has been a long time since I have seen our team play so poorly. But really, everyone missed their mark, the attack, the defense, the goalkeepers. No one lived up to expectations. However, we have discussed it and moved on. We know that we did not show our true selves that day.”

Feuchtmann emphasizes the importance of the upcoming match against Limoges, highlighting the significance of securing a win for the team’s position in the league standings.

Reflecting on his time with Fenix Toulouse, Feuchtmann explains his attachment to the club and the city, praising the team’s success and the supportive environment he found there. Even as he prepares to move on after six seasons, Feuchtmann remains eager to continue playing for the Chilean national team, especially with the upcoming World Championship in Germany in 2027.

Passionate about handball since childhood, Feuchtmann expresses his enduring love for the sport and his excitement for future challenges. In addition to his handball career, Feuchtmann shares his passion for mountain climbing, revealing plans to climb Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Andes mountain range, after retiring.

Feuchtmann’s love for the mountains stems from the beauty and energy they possess, as well as his upbringing in Chile, nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes mountains. Despite his evolving career, Feuchtmann remains focused on the present, ready to continue contributing to the sport until he feels he can no longer perform at his best.
