Institute of Technology KTH in Sweden, has just been named among the 10 outstanding young Vietnamese of 2025.”He was previously among the top 2% of the world’s most influential scientists, received the Golden Globe Award for Science & Technology 2025 and the international Rising Star prize in the field of geotechnical engineering.”

“A rising star in geotechnical engineering, this 35-year-old scientist conducts research in geotechnical and sustainable infrastructure, a field closely related to soils, the foundation of any construction. His work focuses on three main areas: energy foundations; climate change and early warning systems; and ecological materials.”

“Born in a poor rural area of Quang Trach, Quang Binh (now Tan Gianh commune, Quang Tri province), frequently affected by storms and floods, he aspired to build infrastructure that was not only resilient, but also adaptable and sustainable in the face of the environment and climate change. ‘I simply believe that anything sustainable must start with its foundations. Geotechnical engineering takes place underground, rarely visible, but it determines the safety of the entire structure above. This work may be discreet, but it is essential.'”

Doctor Pham Anh Tuan, who works at the Royal Institute of Technology KTH in Sweden, is a representative figure of Vietnamese youth in 2025. “A complete scientific product is an interconnected chain of many ideas and articles,” he declared, highlighting his research approach that balances theory and practice. “He considers the integrated energy foundation project as his ‘most precious asset’, aiming to support regions affected by climate change, ensure energy security, and help people reduce their electricity bills. During the six years of its implementation, he experienced moments of discouragement and even thought of giving up, as new approaches often struggle to be published.”
